  • Performs selected nursing and clerical duties, as assigned by nurse on duty, including:
  • Ushers’ patient to proper exam room.
  • Takes and records patient history in electronic health record.

Summary of Job:

This job title is certified through American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP). This person is required to perform various manual and automated routine only test procedures in large volume in chemistry, hematology, immunology, serology, microbiology and/or urinalysis. Evaluates and interprets the results which are used in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases by ordering providers.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Collects patient specimens.
  • Works as phlebotomist and processor.
  • Performs tests in the following departments: biochemistry, hematology, microbiology, serology, etc. under the supervision of a pathologist or medical laboratory scientist.
  • Enters data into the Lab. Information System and control monitoring websites.
  • Calls critical to the provider or nurse.
  • Returns test results on an EMR or by fax to the ordering providers.
  • Calibrates equipment.
  • Performs daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly maintenance on all equipment.
  • Assists in daily and monthly quality control procedures.
  • Decontaminates work area.
  • Disposes of biohazard byproducts.
  • Files necessary paperwork.
  • Performs drug screen collections for DOT and non-DOT drug screens as well as alcohol screening.
  • Performs proficiency surveys and participates in continuing education for certification.
  • Performs other duties as may be necessary.

Physical Demands/Hazards:

  • Requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Frequent walking, sitting, bending, and standing required for extended periods of time.

  • Requires visual acuity and normal color perception.

Qualifications:

Family Practice Physician/Medical Director (Full-Time):

Castle Rock Medical Center Office seeks a compassionate Board Certified or Board Eligible Family Practice Physician for a thriving outpatient clinic. This position will also serve as Medical Director for the outpatient Rural Health Clinic and participates in administrative and quality initiatives.

No Call!

Castle Rock Hospital District Providers practice at our outpatient Rural Health Clinic where we have on-site lab and radiology. Castle Rock currently provides Family Practice and Pediatrics.

Castle Rock offers a great work schedule with no call. Our clinic is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  There may be opportunities for student loan forgiveness through various resources in Wyoming.
